Team of the Round
Busan IPark (vs. Bucheon FC 1995, Sat. 13th May - 18:30)
Just one loss and five wins from 11 games means Busan IPark are sitting in fourth place in the table. Last time out, Busan put three past fellow promotion contenders FC Anyang to make it four unbeaten. The South Coast side have shown a tendency to shoot from distance and, in fact, sit joint-top of the table for shots dispatched from outside the area with 74. Busan are third for one-on-one dribbles with 316, second per 90 with 26.24, and fifth for success with 52.5%. The team's leading scorers are Brazilian stars Fessin and Bruno Lamas who both have four goals for the season so far. Bruno Lamas leads the league for shots with 44 while Fessin is the most accurate shooter with 66.67% of all attempts finding the target. Up next for Busan IPark is Bucheon FC 1995 at home. Bucheon won 5-2 last time out and are on a run of three straight victories.
Player of the Round
Jorge Luiz, Chungbuk Cheongju (vs. Ansan Greeners, Sun. 14th May - 18:30)
Chungbuk Cheongju have won two games this season and Brazilian forward Jorge Luiz has scored in both of them. The 23-year-old also scored in the 3-2 loss to Seongnam, pulling a goal back when the Lions were 2-1 down at the time. Jorge was on target last time out, too, to help his team earn a 2-1 win over Cheonan City. The towering forward did well to take a touch with one foot, and steady himself before shooting with the other. Three goals for the campaign is more or less on par with his xG of 3.18. A total of 22 shots puts Jorge ninth in the division in that regard while 10 headed attempts on goal is the second-most in the division. Meanwhile, 36 touches in the box is the fifth-most in K League 2 so far this term. Up next for Jorge Luiz and Chungbuk Cheongju is Ansan Greeners at home, a side that's looking for a first win in four matches.
Elsewhere in K League 2 Round 13
For what's being billed as 'Vietnam Day' at Mokdong Stadium, Seoul E-Land host Cheonan City on Saturday afternoon to get the weekend's K League 2 action underway. The Leopards have Vietnam international striker Nguyễn Văn Toàn who is still looking to break his goal-scoring duck while Cheonan have defender Nguyễn Cảnh Anh and striker Vũ Minh Hiếu but neither have appeared for the club this term. Cheonan are still looking for their first win of the season while Seoul are looking to make it three unbeaten.
Kicking off Sunday's action, Gyeongnam FC are at home to Seongnam FC ahead of, for the longest time, what was a top-flight fixture. The Roses and the Magpies have the same goal this season and that's a return to K League 1. Four points separate the two teams heading into Sunday's clash meaning a win for seventh-place Seongnam would put them right into the promotion mix. A win for Gyeongnam, meanwhile could see them move to the league's summit should results elsewhere go their way.
Later on Sunday afternoon, Chungnam Asan have the unenviable task of trying to halt Gimpo FC's unbeaten start to the new campaign. The Owls are currently ninth in the table after back-to-back losses while Gimpo, despite drawing their last two, are still top of the league.
