Gwangju FC look to keep their hold on top spot when they take on Seoul E-Land this weekend, while FC Anyang will attempt to return to form in the latest edition of the Line 4 Derby against Ansan Greeners. Jeonnam Dragons return to league competition following their Asian Champions League campaign, with Leonard Pllana as their main plaudit, looking for a victory against Bucheon FC 1995.

Match of the Round

Gwangju FC (1st) vs Seoul E-Land (7th), Sat. 7th May - 16:00

The last time these two sides met, the Yellows walked off the pitch with a 2-1 victory, thanks in part to the Leopards having two men sent off, as both Tsubasa Nishi and Mauricio Asenjo were given their marching orders. Reis scored the winner four minutes past the half hour mark in the match and has been on good form recently. Meanwhile, Chung Jung-yong's men are looking to rebound following a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Gyeongnam FC last time out. With just a two point gap at their disposal, Gwangju need a victory to ensure their place atop the table, while a win for their counterparts could mean movement up the table.

In nine head to head matches, Gwangju have never lost, with seven victories and two draws over that span, while outscoring their opponents this weekend by a marked 21-6 advantage. Both sides were earmarked for big things this year - for Gwangju a return to top flight football and Seoul a possible playoff place. The outcome of the match could dictate how the teams move forward in the coming months.

Team of the Round

FC Anyang (vs Ansan Greeners - Sat. 7th May 13:30)

The Violets are reeling a bit following a 2-0 loss to Chungnam Asan their last time out and will look to remedy that against an Ansan Greeners side who have yet to win this season. In their previous meeting, they took all three points, with Hwang Ki-wook and joint leading scorer Kim Kyung-jung getting on the scoresheet.

Ansan have underperformed this year, sighting that a new man on the touchline could be in the offing in the near future. Cho Min-kook has not produced results and needs three points to push his squad up the table with fixtures against Gwangju, Chungnam Asan, Jeonnam Dragons, and Gimpo FC coming up.

Player of the Round

Leonard Pllana (vs Bucheon FC 1995 - Sat. 7th May 18:30)

The Kosovan returns to league action with the Dragons following what was a successful ACL campaign on personal terms, as he contributed valuably to both of Jeonnam's victories in the group stage, Thus far in domestic competition, he has contributed a pair of goals, including what turned out to be the winner against Bucheon in their first encounter this season.

A threat on the wing, and a presence in the box; he should provide Jeonnam with enough of a threat to topple the currently second-placed side in the division as the Dragons aim to make a winning return to domestic football.

Elsewhere in K League 2

Daejeon Hana Citizen take on Gimpo FC, with a chance to keep their momentum going, having won their past four matches. Gimpo have not been as fortunate, going winless in their past two matches and being dropped out of the FA Cup by Busan Transportation in the 3rd round,

Chungnam Asan will look to follow up their big win against FC Anyang as they take on a Busan IPark side who are looking for answers following their 3-1 defeat against Bucheon FC 1995 in midweek, with Ricardo Peres adamant that he wishes to stay with the club despite poor results this season. Park Dong-hyuk on the other hand, has his club in the top half of the table and will chime to his squad to keep the momentum going.
