More K League internationals in action this week as Korea U23s book their place in the AFC U23 Asian Cup quarterfinals, the full men's team took on Paraguay in Suwon, and Vako and Georgia continued their good from in the UEFA Nations League.


Korea 2-2 Paraguay, International Friendly (20:00 PM 10th June)

An Um Won-sang assist helped South Korea snatch a late draw against Paraguay on Friday night. Um, came off the bench on the hour mark to tee up Freiburg's Jeong Woo-young. A Son Heung-min free-kick had pulled a goal back with Korea having found themselves 2-0 down,  

Jo Hyeon-woo got the nod to start between the sticks, his first appearance for the national team since March. Jo was joined by Ulsan Hyundai teammate Kim Young-gwon, Jeonbuk full-backs Kim Jin-su and Kim Moon-hwan, Green Warriors midfielder Paik Seung-ho, Gimcheon's Jung Seung-hyun and Kwon Chang-hoon, as well as FC Seoul duo Hwang In-beom and Na Sang-ho as the nine K League-based stars who started the match. Paulo Bento's men have now won one, drawn one and lost one from the three matches played in June so far. 

Korea's fourth and final friendly this month is on Tuesday at Seoul World Cup Stadium against Egypt.

Korea U23 1-0 Vietnam, AFC U23 Asian Championship Group C

Korea U23s finished as winners of Group C in the 2022 AFC U23 Asian Championship after a 1-0 win over Thailand on Wednesday. Daegu FC's Go Jae-hyun grabbed the game's only goal in the 35th minute. Go was one of eight K League players to start the match, namely: Goh Dong-min (Gyeongnam), Lee Kyu-hyuk (Jeonnam), Choi Jun (Busan), Kim Ju-sung (Gimcheon), Lee Sang-min (Chungnam), Kwon Hyeok-kyu (Gimcheon), and Cho Young-wook (FC Seoul).

Gwangju's Eom Ji-sung, Gangwon's Yang Hyun-jun, and Pohang's Goh Young-jun came off the bench as the other K League-based starlets to feature in the match. Up next is Japan in the quarterfinals on June 12th.


Other K League Internationals

Finland took on Montenegro on June 8th in what could have been a rare K League Internationals derby but Urho Nissilä (Suwon FC) and Stefan Mugoša (Incheon United) were both unused substitutes. Both will be looking to return to action for their respective team's next games. Montenegro take on Bosnia and Finland are away to Romania on June 11th. 

Elsewhere, Vako Qazaishvili (Ulsan Hyundai) came off the bench in the 83rd minute of Georgia's 3-0 away win over North Macedonia in the UEFA Nations League C Group 4. Georgia sit top after three wins in their first three matches. Up next is Bulgaria at home on June 12th
