Lee Seung-woo Seals EA Sports Player of the Month for July

Lee Seung-woo danced his way to June's EA Sports Player of the Month trophy as he celebrated scoring in three consecutive games to help maintain Suwon FC's upturn in form. Strikes against Gimcheon Sangmu and Pohang Steelers straight after the international break, followed by a goal in the Suwon derby, saw Lee's side rack up nine points out of a possible nine. The goals took him up to eight for the season, a tally he has since added to with additional goals in early July, putting him in contention for this season's Golden Boot trophy.

Lee Seung-woo's Superb Strike Secures Gatorade G Moment Award

While his performances across the three matches in June may have helped him claim Player of the Month, Lee Seung-woo's stunning strike against Pohang Steelers saw him seal the Gatorade G Moment Award. Just after the hour mark, the ball fell to Lee in the penalty are who unleashed a right-footed volley from a difficult angle beyond Steelers 'keeper Yan Pyeong-gook. Lee's volley took 69% of the fan vote (10,921 votes), defeating Vako Qazaishvili's effort against FC Seoul.

Kim Do-Kyun Claims Paradise City Manager of the Month after Faultless June

With his side spurred on by the exploits and excellence of Lee Seung-woo, Suwon FC manager Kim Do-kyun was awarded the Paradise City Manager of the Month award after seeing his side chalk up three consecutive wins in June, scoring six and conceding one in addition to a convincing 3-0 win over crosstown rivals Suwon Samsung Bluewings. Having started the season slower than expected, Suwon have built momentum at the beginning of the summer to bring them closer to the top half and matching last season's record finish of 5th. Kim will be hoping that with additional summer acquisitions, his team can now go on to achieve such a feat.

Yang Hyun-jun Receives his Second Lemona Young Player of the Month

Gangwon FC's Yang Hyun-jun continued his fine form this season with an impressive showing throughout June that saw him claim his second Lemona Young Player of the Month award. The 20-year-old has had quite the season so far, featuring in nearly all of Gangwon's matches and becoming an integral part of the side after only making his debut last year. Gangwon have had a difficult start to the campaign, featuring in the lower half, but have begun to make strides in an upward direction and they will be hoping Yang can continue to deliver on his potential to assist them.

June Interviews

"K League's U22 rule has been a great help to me" - Pohang Steelers' Goh Young-jun

"The U22 rule has been a great help to me. Especially last year, starting games was really beneficial. Because of that, I gained a lot of experience and, personally, I improved a lot. And also, because of that experience, this season I think I have become a lot more competitive. I'll still be a U22 player next year but I don't want that as being the sole reason why I play. I need to harness that competitiveness. I don't want to hear anyone say that I'm not playing because I'm no longer U22."

"It's exciting though because we never knew it's going to be like this." - Bucheon FC 1995's Samuel Nnamani

"It's really motivating. It's exciting though because we never knew it was going to be like this. We were having some bad results lately against teams that are struggling which is really sad because we should use this advantage. But you go again, football is sometimes you get surprises. But I will say, we're still on our ground, things happen on the way but that doesn't stop us from going for our goals. I think we have the ability and the capacity to chase Daejeon (above Bucheon in the table). and every game we have to play against them, we have to make sure we get points from them."
